Our School

East Bergholt High School is a 11-16 school situated midway between Ipswich and Colchester, serving a rural catchment area in Constable Country. The School is currently judged by Ofsted to be "Good". The number of students on roll in the year 2017/18 is approximately 907.

About Our Clubs

I am a Computing teacher and have been teaching at the school for over 6 years now. I am passionate about teaching in particular STEM and extra curricular activities. I already run several clubs and activities including: Digital Leaders, Esafety Champions, First Lego League, Vex Robotics, Code Club & BEBRAS challenge.

Why we want a 3d printer

Every year, the First Lego League team takes part in an inter-school competition. This year, the theme is water-saving devices and they are discussing prototyping devices themselves. A 3D printer and scanner would give them a real chance in the competition - they'd be able to test their products if they could make them, instead of drawing them like last year. It would also be a great way to learn more about engineering and prototyping.

But we wouldn't just use it for the competition. If we could buy and 3D printer and scanner then we could use them in all Computing and STEM clubs - we could build robots in our Vex Robotics Club! - as well as in lessons. In Computing, we would look at the on-screen design processes, whilst in Design Technology we'd look more at the engineering side of things. And an added bonus: they would have great fun using them!

Where your money will go

If we raise our minimum target, we will buy:

1 x Cubify 3D Scanner @ £418.80

Credit card fees @ 2%: £8.38

Grand total: £427.18

If we raise more, instead we'll buy: 1 x UP box 3D Printer @ £1194 https://www.rapidonline.com/up-box-3d-printer-25-0202

Credit card fees @ 2%: £23.88

Grand total: £1217.88

If we can raise more - we'd love to buy both of the products, at a total of £1645.06!
