OUR PROJECT

About us

We are a small village primary school in the Yorkshire Dales. We aim to provide a happy, secure and stimulating environment in which all children are motivated to learn and achieve to their full potential.  We wish our children to be self disciplined, co-operative and caring individuals, who will develop confidence and a sense of awe, wonder and enquiry about the world we live in.

What do we want?

Through this project we would like to buy a class set of iPads/tablets. Our current laptops are getting beyond repair and we will soon be unable to install updates to our operating systems.

Who is this for?

This will benefit all of our pupils, both current and in the future.

Why do we want it?

We need your support!

We would like to introduce ourselves as the Gargrave Warriors, taking part in the 12K ‘Total Warrior’ race (now known as ‘The Great Northern Mud Run!) at Bramham Park, Leeds, to raise money for technology equipment for the pupils of Gargrave Primary School.

On 22nd June 2019, our team, Gargrave Warriors, made up of staff and friends, are taking on the 12K challenge along with 25 gruelling obstacles, including ‘Human BBQ’, ‘The Plunge’ and ‘The Shocker’ to name but a few. We have set the challenge bar high in order to raise £20,000 for ICT equipment, including tablets and interactive whiteboards.

As with all schools, Gargrave Primary School is facing challenging financial times, with further budget cuts on the horizon. This inevitably means budgets are squeezed more than ever and resources are not being updated. Achieving our target will enable our pupils to have greater access to technology and up-to-date programs. Studies have found that when technology is integrated into lessons, students find learning more enjoyable and fun. This leads to more active participation in the learning process, which in turn increases knowledge retention.
