Greenfields Academy is a specialist school based in Grantham, Lincolnshire. The school meets the Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs of our pupils. Despite the challenges to bring a rural school on the edge of Grantham, we have a “Good” Ofsted rating. The school has traditionally been a secondary school but as of September 2018, we began to also support the needs of primary aged SEMH children.
What do we want?
Who is this for?
These laptops would be for use by the whole school (43 pupils) across a range of subjects. Using these laptops, our younger pupils will be introduced to the internet and make use of apps and websites linked to the curriculum. Our older pupils will begin using Microsoft Office to support them in their education and prepare life in the workplace.
Why do we want it?
Laptops provide our pupils with an interactive environment to develop a deeper understanding of each subject. Our pupils have access to a variety of software from basic Microsoft Office to specialist programmes like Stop Motion Pro and Adobe Lightroom. In offering a diverse range of software to our pupils, we ensure they become proficient in IT, along with developing professional skills which will make them stand out in the job market. The interactive aspect and the instant response from this equipment help to engage our pupils and keep them focused.
Where your money goes
2 x Laptops @ £480 each
Total = £960 (inc VAT)
If we're fortunate enough to raise more than our target, then we would purchase further iPads for the school.
