Handsworth Primary School is a two form entry school located in Highams Park, London. Our school is a happy, thriving learning community, where diversity is celebrated and aspirations are encouraged. We are committed to providing a safe, secure and stimulating environment, where everyone can develop their skills and talents in a variety of ways and to the best of their abilities.
What do we want?
We would like to buy a SAM Maker and STEAM Classroom size kit to provide the opportunity for our pupils to learn coding and science using fun resources. SAM Labs provide an assortment of blocks and the kit is compatible with LEGO and other classroom resources to encourage creativity. SAM Labs also provide free lesson plans so we will have everything we need to teach a full class of children.
Who is this for?
The STEAM kit can be used by Key Stage 1 pupils, aged from 4 years to 12 years. The Maker kit is more advanced and is suitable for children working across Key Stage 2.
Why do we want it?
The SAM Maker and STEAM Kit will encourage our children to learn to create and code in a fun environment, working at their own pace, following step-by-step instructions, using their skill to help overcome problems and solve problems.
