OUR PROJECT

About us

We are St. George's! We are based in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. We are a reasonably sized school in an - unfortunately - deprived area. We strive to give our children the best and encourage them to 'reach for the stars!'

What do we want?

We want to buy a class set of 30 Micro:Bits. This would allow us to introduce a new and exciting way of coding that will engage children and show them a new world.

Who is this for?

These will be used across our whole school for Design & Technology and Computing, with a view to using it in other subjects too.

Why do we want it?

In our local area, children don’t always have the opportunity to explore digital technology to the extent they would like. The UK currently faces a critical skills shortage in the technology sector and providing children the opportunities to develop these skills could help change that.

Micro:Bit supports children across the curriculum. Children develop their knowledge and understanding in Science, Engineering, Technology and Numeracy & Mathematics.

WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES

30 x Micro:Bit Complete Starter Kit @ £30 (inc VAT) each

Total: £900 (inc VAT)

STRETCH TARGET

If we're fortunate enough to raise more than our target, then we would also like to buy some enviro:bits. They are an add-on to to the Micro:Bit and will help the children in measuring the weather for other projects!
