Overleigh St Mary's CE Primary School is a large two form entry school based in the in the beautiful and historical City of Chester.
What do we want?
Our school would like to create a Peace Garden. This will be a quiet area where children and adults can reflect and/or pray. The garden will be made of sensory materials and be an inspiring place to visit.
There will be a path or patio made of ecobricks. Children and families are being asked to make ecobricks for the area, this will help raise awareness of plastic waste to our community.
Who is this for?
The area is for our whole school to use across a range of subjects. The path will be located by our outside classroom and therefore encourage the use of the outside space.
Why do we want it?
The children are involved in the project on many levels, from designing the area, recycling plastics to make the ecobricks which will be used to make a path or patio. Children will be involved in the planning and construction of the path. The completed Peace Garden will be an area of reflection for the whole school community.
