We are a small rural school with 4 classes, from Reception to Year 6. As a small school we are hit strongly by funding cuts and do not receive the financial support that other schools may receive in more deprived areas. We are proud of our Victorian building and rich history, but we also want to equip our students for the ever-changing technological world that they are growing up in; we cannot do this without the appropriate hardware.
We would like to enable children to use iPads regularly as part of their learning to enhance further our curriculum, which is exciting in so many other ways. Hardware like this would be the icing on the cake! It would be fantastic and would improve our teaching and learning if we were able to use iPads as part of our learning across the curriculum every day.
The iPads will be invaluable across the school. Our pupils are already 'digitally literate' with some amazing computer skills that they then cannot demonstrate to us on our existing hardware. In school, we have lots of laptops for the children to use, but these take time to open up and log on to, whereas iPads can be almost instant and therefore enable children to make better use of their learning time in class, especially when using them for research. We want them to be able to access apps offering maths and phonic games to stretch and challenge them in their learning, to be able to develop their programming skills, create digital music compositions, to undertake research and MUCH MUCH more! The possibilities are endless.
We would like to buy 4 iPads to be shared across the school.
