MY PROJECT

My name is Donna Rawling, Computing Lead at St. Mark's C.E. Primary School, in Worsley, Greater Manchester. I am a Computing at School (CAS) Master Teacher and am passionate about enabling our children to experience all aspects of Computing, instilling resilience and growing our mindsets. We hope to capture our children's interest and imagination, and hopefully inspire them to consider a career in the ever-expanding area of Computer Science.

What we want

We would like to set up a Tech Treasure Chest, a portable tech kit that can be used throughout school for Physical Computing projects. This kit will complete and compliment our existing provision which, whilst well utilised, still has gaps which we would like to address.

Who is this for?

This is for use by our whole school, from Nursery to Year 6 and will enable extensive cross-curricular links, enhancing our growing STEM/STEAM approach to learning. (It will cover the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths.)

Why we want it

Our school has recently made an exciting transition to 2 form entry! However, as the number of pupils and classes continues to expand, provision is becoming stretched. Additionally, with technology evolving so rapidly, outdated or incompatible equipment is becoming more of an issue.

This kit will enable us to teach a range of skills and explore limitless projects and experiences almost literally any time or place within school in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths.
