Danesfield School is an inspirational school - it is already recognised as outstanding by Ofsted, is a Microsoft training academy and looks to use technology to enhance learning wherever it can. However, it is one of the lowest funded schools in the country and relies on fundraising to buy everything beyond building costs, salaries and the very basics.
What do we want?
We want to buy (at least) 6 Asus 13" tablets to begin replacing some of our broken tablets.
Thanks to a donation in 2015, we were able to buy tablet/laptops for use across all year groups, but some of these tablets now need replacing and so we are embarking on fundraising to help begin the replacement schedule.
Who is this for?
This is to ensure all children in all years can use tablets to help them learn in many different subjects across the curriculum.
Why do we want it?
Tablets/laptops enable the teachers to plan creative hook lessons, which maximises progress. They are embedded across all areas of the curriculum because we have seen the impact using technology in the class can have. This has been recognised widely, and other schools now come to learn from us to see how technology can help enhance learning.
WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES
For every £250 we raise, we will buy an Asus 13" tablet/laptop.
The tablets/laptops will be similar to the below link, but we will buy directly from Asus who will offer us the best price and the right unit for our needs.
Our target is to buy 6 so our total = £1,500 (incl VAT & delivery).
If we manage to raise more than £1,500, we will use the extra funds to buy more Asus tablets to continue with our replacement schedule.
HELP US REACH OUR TARGET!
We are passionate about using technology to ensure our children get the very best education. Please help us ensure we have enough tablets/laptops so that every child in every class can benefit.
