OUR PROJECT

About us

Etz Chaim Jewish Primary School is a small, one form entry school based in Mill Hill, London. One of the children's favourite subjects is Computing. As we are a new growing school, we need to build upon our computing resources to support and facilitate the children's learning, especially in Upper Key Stage 2. For our Year 5 and 6 children we would like to buy Lego WeDo to help our older children create more complex programmes.

What do we want?

We want to buy 6 sets of Lego WeDo.

We want to buy 5 new Bee-Bots for Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1.

Who is this for?

The Lego WeDo are primarily aimed at Upper Key Stage 2, however the whole school will benefit from our purchase. These will develop their knowledge and understanding across the computing curriculum. These resources will also be used to help children learn key maths concepts, like space, movement and direction.

The Bee-Bots are aimed at Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1, however some children in Key Stage 2 will also benefit from them.

Why do we want it?

Computing is now a very big part of the curriculum as well as the world around us. It is evolving everyday! We are a fairly new school and therefore need to build up our resources especially for Key Stage 2. Currently, our children experience most of the computing curriculum through the use of iPads and Think Pads. We would love to broaden the children's experiences and resources.

Also, we need to challenge and move our older children's learning on with a more complex programming resource such as Lego WeDo. Lego WeDo will be fun, engaging and challenging for all children in Upper Key Stage 2.

We would like to purchase new Bee-Bots as ours have currently been well used and are on the way out! The Bee-Bots help the children to learn coding, direction and mathematical language in a fun and practical way.

WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES

6 x sets of Lego WeDo @ £124.99 each = £749.94 https://www.tts-group.co.uk/lego-education-wedo-2.0-class-pack-bundle/1011646.html

5 x Bee-Bot rechargeable floor robots @ £49.95 each = £249.75 https://www.tts-group.co.uk/bee-bot-rechargeable-floor-robot/1001794.html

After visiting the TTS stand at BETT we have decided to purchase Bluebots rather than Beebots as they have greater functionality.

So we will be purchasing 3 x Blue Bot programmable floor robots @ £69.95 each = £209.85

New total = £960 (incl VAT & delivery)

STRETCH TARGET

If we are lucky enough to reach over our target, we will consider buying additional Blue Bots and Blue Bot accessories:

  • 2 x Blue Bot programmable floor robots @ £69.95 each = £139.90
  • 1 x Blue Bot Programming TacTile Reader @ £84.95
  • 1 x Blue Bot Transparent Grid Mat @ £14.95

Total = £239.80

HELP US REACH OUR TARGET!

Please do donate and help us to reach our target in order for us to purchase the resources mentioned above to challenge and further develop our Year 5 and 6s! If you can't donate right now you can help us in other ways! Share this project with anyone you think might be able to support us reach our target.
