OUR PROJECT

About us

We are a small one form entry school on the outskirts of Croydon. Due to having such a low number of Pupil Premium Pupils, the school receives significantly less than others within the borough. This means that we are unable to allocate money to projects such as this.

What do we want?

We would like to purchase Chromebooks for our school as we believe that it will help provide our children with the ability to practice and develop their typing skills.

Who is this for?

We hope that these would be available for use by each class throughout the school.

Why do we want it?

Chromebooks are versatile laptops which are very relevant to the children's future. We need to be able to teach the children how to use Google Apps and Google Drive so that they can use these skills in the future workplace. With the support from Google Apps, we can allow children to create their documents in the classroom and, because the Chromebooks are portable, the children can be in any location in the school. They will have the ability to type up and save their written work, and also use the internet for lessons and to see videos which are relevant to the curriculum, further enhancing their learning.

WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES

16 x Acer Chromebook 14inch @ £229.99 each = £3,679.84

16 x Amazon Basics Laptop Cases @ £11.49 each = £183.84

Credit Card Fees (2%) = £77.27

Total = £3,940.95

However we are first crowdfunding for 8 Acer Chromebooks @ £1,839 and if we reach that then we'll be going for £3,940.

STRETCH TARGET

If we're fortunate enough to raise more than our target, then we would also like to increase the bandwidth of the school's network so that we can ensure that the Chromebooks are quick and easy to use.
