our school

We are a lively and vibrant two-form entry primary school in Tower Hamlets, located at the heart of our community, with strong links to the community we serve and to other local schools. We believe that digital technology has the power to transform and enrich children's learning opportunities, through providing the means for children to experience the world around them in ways that they otherwise would not have access to. We were lucky enough to experience a 30-minute session with Google Expeditions last year. This session engaged staff and children alike in their enthusiasm for augmented and virtual reality resources as a way of enriching their learning opportunities.

MY project

On the back of our Google Expeditions experience, we acquired 6 Google Cardboard VR headsets of our own. However, we do not currently have the handsets required, such as iPod touches, to use these headsets in school.

We would like to buy a set of iPod Touches to go with the headsets we already have, along with a charging station to keep the devices together and safely charged.

Who is this for?

This is for our whole school to use. As a school, we envisage that this technology will have an impact on children's learning across the curriculum. Virtual reality will enable our children to interact with the places and concepts they are studying in Geography, History, Science and French topics, in a completely new and immersive way. They will use VR resources to build up key vocabulary and concepts related to their work. Children will be encouraged to develop their own VR content and apps.
