OUR PROJECT

About us

We are the Polish Saturday School, which was established over two years ago by the group of teachers and friends from Darlington and neighbourhood area. From the beginning, we’ve had a mission to create the place open for people with many visions.

The Polish Saturday School in Darlington is a charity organisation working with Polish background and bilingual children. The school, in partnership with parents and local community, seeks to fulfil its potential by delivering the highest standard of education. The aim of the Polish Saturday School in Darlington is to promote and celebrate Polish language, culture, heritage of past generations, but also try hard to develop an international understanding and the need for integration in the modern world.

We are not closed to children with additional needs, we believe that we all can make a difference in their educational journey.

The Polish Saturday School is based in Hummersknot Academy in Darlington. We don't have our own place so we build the school environment each Saturday with our own supplies.

What do we want?

We want to buy a set of tablets to help our children to learn and improve their skills. We understand the need for interdisciplinary learning and we are sure that using a number of educational tools and resources will be a great benefit for them.

Who is this for?

This is for our whole school; we are going to plan a series of learning sessions suitable for different age groups using tablets and multimedia resources.

Why do we want it?

It will make a difference to pupils, who are used to a smart education in their "everyday schools". Supplementary schools are always in the worse position. They are much more traditional, they only use books and are sometimes "old-fashioned".

We want to show that we are a modern school that's open to innovation. It will allow students to visualise many topics and allow them to interact with the subject matter in a totally new way.
