Introduce your school
Princes Risborough School is a secondary school in Buckinghamshire. The school hosts a specially resourced provision for pupils who have autistic spectrum disorder and many of these pupils are taught in mainstream lessons. Our school motto is 'Enjoy and Achieve' and our aim is for our students to develop and ultimately leave us as successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.
What do you want?
We want to buy one visualiser for every department and area within the school, including the Library, Learning Support and the Base (our provision for ASD pupils).
Who is this for?
This is for our whole school, to use across a range of subjects.
Why do you want it?
Visualisers can be used to model excellent work so that students can see what they need to do to improve their own. They can enable a teacher to quickly provide feedback to a whole class so that progress can be made. Students can also suggest how work can be improved and demonstrate the changes that can be made. Student work can be viewed and praised, providing positive encouragement for individual students and helping to keep them motivated.
Visualisers can also be used to share resources with a class so that they can be accessed by all in the room such as objects for practical lessons. A practical process could also be demonstrated. If a student is visually impaired they can allow magnification.
Overall they will enable students to make improved progress across the whole range of curriculum areas.
