OUR PROJECT

About us

We are a secondary school based in Stanford le Hope, Essex.

What do we want?

We have previously entered the UKROC international model rocket competition and have had success in reaching the national finals twice!

The competition enables students to engage in physics outside of the national curriculum, providing them with motivation and insight into the many applications of physics.

The activity lasts approximately a full school year from start to finish and within that year students learn to work as a team, problem solve and new skills that involve engineering and mathematics.

As well as these skills students learn to practise the cooperative values our school promotes.

We have previously been able to fund 1 team at a cost of £250. I would like to expand this to 4 teams with a funding target of £1,000.

This would enable 1 team from each year group, Years 7-10.

Who is this for?

The whole school across STEM subjects.

WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES

Each rocket kit costs £250-£300. The cost comes down, the more we purchase.

The kit includes everything required to win the competition.

Total = £1,000

STRETCH TARGET

If we're fortunate enough to raise more than our target, then we would also like to buy additional kits. Our school can enter unlimited teams!

HELP US REACH OUR TARGET!

Please help us reach our target. Every student that has taken part in this activity previously has had a positive experience, often leading on to newfound interest in Physics and STEM. You can help by donating or sharing this page on social media.
