OUR PROJECT

About us

We are St. Mark's Primary, East Renfrewshire, Scotland. Currently there are 359 children who attend our school.

What do we want?

We would like to fundraise for a class set of 30 micro:bits. This would allow us to introduce coding for all kinds of cool creations, from robots to musical instruments – the possibilities are endless!

Who is this for?

The beauty of micro:bits is that they are suitable to use across the whole school. The only limit is your imagination!

Why do we want it?

In our local area, children don’t always have the opportunity to explore digital technology to the extent they would like. The UK currently faces a critical skills shortage in the technology sector and providing children the opportunities to develop these skills could help to change that.

Micro:bit supports children across the curriculum. Children develop their knowledge and understanding in Science, Engineering, Technology and Numeracy & Mathematics.

WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES

30 x BBC micro:bit Pocket Sized Codeable Computer Starter Kit @ £12.50 (£15 inc VAT)

Total = £450 (incl VAT & delivery)

STRETCH TARGET

If we're fortunate enough to raise more than our target, then we would also like to buy the Kitronik:MOVE mini buggy kit.

HELP US REACH OUR TARGET!

Your donation really will help to make a difference in the lives of the young people in our school and allow them much greater opportunities in STEM!
